Migration guides
Switching to Formspring: what moves, what does not
Each guide says what carries over, what you bring yourself and how to check the result before you switch. Where there is no importer, we say so.

Canny
Bring your ideas, votes, tags and comments across from a Canny export, check the counts with a dry run, then import. Running the same file again changes nothing.
Method: Import a file, with a dry run

Short links
Another link shortener
Export your links as a CSV, import them in one go, and fix any rows that fail without redoing the ones that worked.
Method: Import a CSV, row by row

Form backends such as Formspree, Getform and Basin
Hosted form endpoints
Your form markup and field names stay. You change the action URL, set up notifications again and check the first submissions. Past submissions are not imported.
Method: Swap the form action, no data import
Moves to Formspring Forms
Not available yet
These have no importer today. We list them so you know before you plan a move.
| Source | Status | What to do today |
|---|---|---|
| Form builders Typeform, Tally, Jotform, Google Forms | Planned | No importer yet. Rebuild the form from a template; past responses stay in the old tool until you export them. |
| Link-in-bio pages Linktree | Planned | No importer yet. Recreate the page; the short links on it can be imported from a CSV. |
| Help desks Help Scout, Zendesk, Intercom | Planned | No importer yet. Conversations stay in the old tool. |
How we handle a move
- Your export, your account
- Formspring never signs in to the tool you are leaving. You export from it and bring the file.
- Check before you commit
- Where an importer has a dry run, run it first. Every guide ends with how to reconcile the result.
- Nothing is emailed
- An import creates records. It does not send mail to the people in your file.
