Mailchimp
Add each submitter to a Mailchimp audience using the Marketing API. Optional tags help segmentation; you can require double opt-in when you need a confirmation email.
What you need
- Mailchimp account with API key (includes data-center suffix, e.g.
...-us21). - Audience (list) ID from audience settings.
What you configure
- API key and Audience ID.
- Email field – defaults to
email. - Tags – optional comma-separated values applied after a successful subscribe.
- Double opt-in – choose pending confirmation vs immediate subscribed status.
Scalar fields from the submission map to merge fields (keys are uppercased by convention).
Steps
- In Mailchimp, gather API key and audience id.
- In Formspring, open your form → Integrations → Mailchimp → fill fields → Save.
- Submit a test; confirm the member and Deliveries.
Tips
- Merge fields must exist in Mailchimp before sending uncommon keys.
- Watch compliance: use double opt-in when policy requires it.
